Fresh fruits and veggies are somewhat of a hit or miss with little man right now.
My husband’s mom says “A day without onions is a day without sunshine” I happen to disagree not an onion fan ok not a fan of lots of things but onion is on the top 5. My husband on the other hand Loves loves Loves onions.
Little man has tried onions he was ok with them i’m assuming because its texture isn’t slimey or gooey. You see He gets his pickiness from me.
He doesn’t like peaches because they are slimey but he does love canned pears. He likes grapes and can stuff about 8 in his mouth if we let him. I think he is a fan of the crunch in things.
Today he tried bananas or should I say banana peel. Yes, he went into our banana bag and just grabbed one and took a bite of the peel. Before I could stop him he spit it right out. When I did give him a piece he loved it! I guess mushy isn’t a problem or maybe he loved that it was sweet.
Which reminds me hes tried peels hes tried canned stuff but he hasn’t tried anything with seeds.
Today during lunch with my husband I asked “what happens if you swallow a seed from the lemon you just squeezed into your drink? Do you freak out ” he said “no, I just eat it”
Which leads me to my next question “What if it starts growing in your tummy?” I laughed after I thought about what I just asked him.
You see when I was little my grandparents always said “Don’t eat seeds because then you will have a tree growing in your tummy and branches will come out of your ears and nose”
I guess I bought the story because I have yet to swallow a seed. I know a tree won’t grow but still I don’t want to give it a chance.
My husband looked at me and said “A tree can’t grow in your stomach because it has acid” he’s a pretty smart cookie.
I wanted to tell our kids that eating a seed would cause you to grow a tree in your tummy just so they could be like me but my husband said “ok you can tell them that but when they ask where babies come from I’m gonna say from spaceships”
I don’t want to traumatize our kids with trees growing in their tummies and babies being aliens in spaceships so seeds will be eaten here and we’ll get to where babies come from at its time.
In other news little lady is teething bad we have the whole works going on (drooling, biting hand, fussiness, and waterpotty). But still no sign of teeth. We’re hoping for a tooth soon at least a peek of one. For now we will have lots of bibs handy, chewy toys and of course the occasional teething tablet.
