On Christmas Eve I decide to give my cooking skills a go. I went crazy going to stores last minute to make some Atole as i had promised in my last post! I nearly broke down as I hit my 3rd store in hopes it would be open. If it wasn’t open I definitely would have broke down. In the end i don’t think it wasn’t even about the mexican drink. It was more of a panic to keep a tradition alive especially being far from home and from my family. I needed there to be something to remind me and the kids of my family. Since i knew there was no way of me cooking tamales, or making capirotada (mexican bread pudding). I needed something anything that would scream home.
Here is little lady and I cooking up a batch of Atole.
I must admit, for my first attempt, it wasn’t a complete fail. Although it smelled just like i remember, the taste wasn’t quite the same. It was still very good, Muy Rico! Little man and daddy weren’t fans but Little lady and I totally drank it.
Today I’m participating in Mommy & Me Monday.
I’ll be back tomorrow with all our Christmas and
Snow blizzard Adventures(yes our first Snow blizzard) Stay Tuned!
