Little Man is well into his Kinder days and almost instantly the changes were noticed. He has developed so much. He is social and is happy to share all the new things he’s learned. He gets so excited to share his work as well as do homework.. some nights. I am very happy with the progress.
His teacher informed us that their class is one of the two implementing a new program and that it would be a little advance. I worried because Little Man didn’t attend preschool but I definitely tried at home with various daily activities to prepare him. However, Socially I didn’t do enough. He has shown no signs of issues. During his parent teacher conference his teacher was actually surprised to learn he didn’t go to preschool. This made me feel great!
I feel it’s important to share and document 5 Amazing things since becoming a kindergartener!
1-He reads his familiar high frequency words during story-time. The, and, is, can, I, we, like, see, go, to, a…. to name a few! He can spell some of them too!
2-He learned his first spanish song “Cascabeles” for his Christmas Show at school. He was so proud he sang it until little lady learned it too and soon they both were singing it to Grandma and Papuchoni via skype!
3-He get’s emotional with stories we read and has learned to share his feeling with me. Little Man has always been very quiet His non verbals have helped a lot to let me know when he wasn’t ok but now he feels like he can share more of himself with us.
4-He received Spotlight Student of the Month in November… 2 months into school! He received 2 awards one even signed by the mayor! This was a huge deal for me because I know his teacher sees the greatness we see and we couldn’t be prouder as parents!
5-He’s become very independent! He does chores around the house on his own. He loves to help with recycling and enjoys setting up our table for breakfast and dinner. He is poliet and asks if he can help. He really warms my heart!
I can go on and on about our son but the truth is what parent doesn’t love talking about their child. I just wanted to share the amazing growth I see in ours. While he still is a bit shy he is his own little person. He loves school and his friends but enjoys coming home to share his day with us!
