Mixed Heritage Week: Raised Religious

Mixed Heritage Week Celebration continues.
Today as we celebrated Lent we talked about how religion plays a huge part in both the hubs and I’s upbringing and heritage.

The hubs shared with the kids how he was raised Baptist and Sunday School and Sunday Mass were a big part of his life.

I took have shared how religion is a huge part of my heritage. I truly believe it is the most significant tradition my family has. My grandparents had the biggest impact on my Catholic upbringing much like the hubs grandparents on him. I too attended many Sunday Schools to fulfill my sacraments and Sunday Mass was a must!

Though we are raising our family Catholic, the hubs still shares a lot of his childhood Baptist upbringing with our family. We both know the importance of religion for OUR family based on how we were raised as kids.

Today we united once again and attended Ash Wednesday service as a family and reminisced on how we were both raised as Little Man and Little Lady listened on.

What would you say was the most significant tradition in your childhood Did it mold who your are today? Would you consider it a big part of your heritage?
