Last weekend My Amiga @OfeliaNJ Invited me to attend a Back to School Event in NYC. With little man fast approaching preschool (this year or perhaps next) I figured now would be a great time to check out what back to school events were all about.
For Moms Media along with 77kids hosted the amazing #styleschool event at the Metropolitan Pavilion.
They featured some great brands like Mott’s, Cameron Hughes Wine, Lands’ End, Remington, Play-Doh, Mabel’s Labels, Zulily, Mom agenda, Advil and others.
Cameron Hughes Wine was providing everyone with a wine taste. Can I just say the Hubs and I are huge Moscato fans. If you haven’t tried you must! Sweet and sparkly is the way to go. They had a great tasting of Moscato definetly looking into that for future dates with the hubs.
Mott’s had a couple of booths along with an activity area for the kids and samples of Mott’s products along with a picture opp that Ofelia and I took advantage of. Ofelia tried the new Garden blend juice which they made in to Bloody Mary’s. It sounds like there was lots of drinking but I assure you it was mostly apple juice. Anyways, I tried the virgin Bloody Mary for the first time and it was delish! It really brought me back to my roots can I say Coctel de camaron (Shrimp Cocktail)!!!
But I think my favorite at the Mott’s booths were the new Applesauce pouches. I explained how too many times I’ve had the kids squeeze the juice box in attempt to take it from my hand . Juice ended up everywhere. It was always a messy scene. Applesauce is the new on the go snack for us. I brought one home and had the kids sample it. They loved it.
Lands’ End provided the wonderful backpacks that held our swag. The lovely ladies at the booth were very informative and sweet. The backpack also has a matching lunch tote that attaches right to their backpacks which is available now. I thought this was a very neat idea because if my kids are anything like dad and I stuff will get forgotten and lost.
Remington was set up in the middle providing cute hair styles for the kids. We also got a the new wrap to waves hot tool.
Play- doh was right next to them. They had a play area for kids to interact with the new Sesame Street Elmo and Cookie Monster Play-doh toys. They also gave us a 10pk of Play-Doh Little man and little lady have never played with any type of molding doh this should be fun.
Zulily is an online store that provides daily deals for moms, babies and kids. They were doing a clothes swap which many participated in. They had the cutest raincoats and sneakers on display along with other kids items. The girls at the table were awesome and super fun! and they had some cute pin buttons up for grabs that said “trendsetter” and sweetheart” so cute!
And of course 77kids by American Eagle. Their displays consisted of a little lounge for kids with lots of goodies on a coffee table from lollipops to trendy glasses lots of cool goodies and photo opps for kids. I regret not bringing little man he would have had a blast. They also had manikins sporting kids clothing I was inspired to come home and create my own back to school fashion looks from the 77kids collections.
After speaking to Betsy from American Eagle at the event. She asked if my kids wore AE I sadly responded “no”which she followed with “too edgy?” I said no not at all I just never really had the chance to visit a store. I know, i’m horrible, I never even knew AE had a kids line. However I promised I would visit the one nearest to me especially with the 20% off I was given.

Overall the event was a blast. I met some new great friends like @liza_rae , @Tracy_Iglesias , @mommygratitude1 , and @gaynycdad (I was so excited to meet him ) and I also got to meet @mommyfactor ‘s son He was such a cutie. Him and little man can totally be BFF.
I went home on the train with Ofelia back to NJ with a backpack full of great things for my kiddos. As well as a new pair of Skullcandy headphones via 77kids I won in a raffle. I gave those to Dad before I could even get a picture he put them to good use.
Thanks to @WhitneyMWS and @Classymommy for being such great hostess!
Gracias to my Amiga @OfeliaNJ for the invite and awesome conversation.
Disclosure: CMP.LY/2 : The above is my true and honest opinion. Samples and swag were complimentary for attending the event.
