The kids know we usually bake some deliciousness for Easter. I wanted to create something easy but fun and using candy. Using candy on a cake is my way of doing Easter Baking and decorating. I love themed dinners so this Bunny Cake is perfect for our holiday celebration. With just a few ingredients and your favorite cake mix, you can have this done in no time for your Easter Celebration!
Make a Candy Bunny Cake for Easter
I headed to Walmart to shop for all my Easter musts including what I’d need for this Candy Bunny Cake.
For this Bunny Cake you will need:
- Wilton Cake Pan-Bunny shaped
- Favorite boxed cake mix +Ingredients as directed on box (Try Pillsbury Moist Supreme Classic White)
- Fluffy frosting (Pillsbury Fluffy Frost is thick and great for adhering the candy)
- 1 bag of Milk Chocolate M&M’s in pastel colors
Bake your boxed cake mix according to directions on the box. You can also use your favorite cake mix from scratch. Once the cake is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool completely. Once the bunny cake is cool, begin frosting the cake using vanilla frosting.
TIP: Add food coloring to your frosting before getting started to make your bunny a festive color.
Frost and Decorate Bunny Cake with Candy
Frost the cake completely until well frosted. Then add 2 eyes and 1 nose. I used two yellow M&M’s for eyes and a pink one for the nose.
While the cake frosting is still freshly spread, begin to add your candy all around the bunny cake. Try getting creative with a pattern when adding the candy all around. Don’t forget to give your Bunny a cute bow-tie by using 2 colors to distinguish it.
Once completely decorated it’s time to enjoy! This cake is great for family Easter Celebrations, Potlucks, or school Easter events. I love having the kids help out in the kitchen and this is the perfect dessert to have them help decorate for Easter.
