Little Man is officially a Kindergartener. We’ve been waiting for this day for the past week or so. As chaotic as the year has started we knew we needed to make this day as special as ever. My son was leaving me for the first time.
I wrote about the worries I’d have. I cried as I filled paperwork out and cried some more when we missed orientation because we were in california. All in all I expected to cry at the bus stop but sometimes you cant control situations and things happen for the best.
As we woke up in the AM to get him ready for his bus trip we planned according to the pick up time. We even planned to be out at the bus stop 10 minutes earlier than expected.
Suddenly the bus was outside. Little Man was putting on his shirt and I was rushing him to put his backpack on. As dad helped him with his buttons I peeled away his name tag so his teacher can find him when the bus arrives at school. Our video and picture plans were suddenly tossed out the door and the hubs and I barely got a few shots.
He got on the bus put his seatbelt on and waved goodbye. And just like that, He was gone. I didn’t cry He didn’t cry It just kinda was a numb feeling My son was gone. I don’t even think I kissed him goodbye. He was ok though.
Little Lady and I waited outside 30 minutes before Little Man’s bus was to arrive back from school. When his bus finally showed up he came down hugged me and smiled big. My boy had a great first day!
