One of the greatest things my parents could have done for me was believe in me and my dreams. I believe that has helped mold the person I am today and I hope to be just as open and understanding as my parents were with me to little man and little lady.
I changed career paths many times uncertain of what I wanted to accomplish I dabbled in it all. Same is with little man, today he wish to be a super hero when just yesterday he wanted to fly.
I know that in some cultures, specifically with my Latino people, we are not supported in our dreams. Different circumstances stop us from following our dreams. I believe times are changing and opportunities are being set before us.
I find that Latinos wish they could provide their children with amazing opportunities and experiences things they never had the chance to. I know my parents always pushed me to follow my dreams because they knew I could. They wanted me to experiences life and things they too once dreamt were impossible.
I am thankful for programs like Happy Meal Chefs that allows kids to pursue their dreams. For a child to tell their parent that they wish to become a Chef and purse that dream even as a child is amazing! The opportunity is spectacular.
McDonald’s currently has a contest for the next Happy Meal Chef. Where one luck kid and his family can win a trip to the London 2012 Olympic Games and help with Happy Meals!!!
All a family has to do is submit a video answering some cool questions together about how their family makes mealtime fun while making good meal choices.

We have to sit this one out due to age requirements but still plan to cook up a storm like we always do in our kitchen!
Disclosure: McDonald’s did sponsor me to a conference last year however this is not a compensated post or in any way related to that situation. I chose to share because I am a firm believer of following our dreams and hope one lucky kid and their family gets to enjoy this amazing opportunity!!!
