January 6, 2016 Leave a Comment

make ahead meatballs

I’m a busy mama so make-ahead meatballs is a major ingredient in the meals I make. I’m all about make ahead, semi-homemade, quick and easy, slow-cooker meals when thinking of family dinner for the week days. I love making my childhood favorites for my family  with a twist of course! When I can find an easier way without compromising flavor and quality I call that winning. Here is my latest Make Ahead recipe. These Make Ahead meatballs are perfect for my favorite soup Albondigas! They are perfect and freeze ready  anytime I need them!

My recipe for Make ahead Meatballs is simple just 6 ingredients. You will need your choice of ground meat. My family enjoys turkey meatballs.  We also add rice and an egg to keep it all together. To season we love garlic salt, ground oregano, and onion powder.

 How to Make Ahead Meatballs

Add all your ingredients to a bowl. I like to mix in the egg and seasoning and then slowly add the rice.

I like mixing everything in with a spatula first and then making sure everything is well combined by using my hands.

To get all my meatballs the same size, I use a cookie dough scooper. I take 2 scoops and roll them in my hands. Once meatballs are rolled out place on a cookie sheet lined with foil paper. You should make about 1o meatballs.

Freeze on the cookie sheet for about 2hrs. Remove from freeze and place into a gallon size plastic freezer bag. Be sure to label your bag and store back into the freezer until you’re ready to use your meatballs
