Today we continue with our celebration of our Mexican culture. I decided to teach the kids a little more about Mexican Independence Day and thought I’d share some useful facts relating to this day.
1-Father Miguel Hidalgo, a Roman Catholic Priest, rallied the town people of Dolores, Guanajuato on September 15, 1810 to give them the speech known today as El Grito de Dolores (The Cry of Dolores).
We colored a pictures of Father Hidalgo to help explain to the kids who was the leader and why he led the people to freedom. We also discussed what he used to rally the town and what he shouted! VIVA MEXICO!
You can color one too get it here
Check us out tomorrow and all week long as we prepare for Mexican Independence day.
