Recently we noticed this little lady trying to bite, E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G. I thought maybe she’s just teething. While this may be true, it doesn’t make it ok to bite on things let alone people.
While trying to hug her today, she bit down on daddy. He was in shock. Never did he expect her to even do it. It was quite funny when he told me, considering he was totally caught off guard. This little lady still can’t seem to do anything wrong. Can we say daddy’s girl??? YES!
According to allmothers.net
“Infants aged eight to fourteen months old… bite out of sheer excitement. Mostly infants bite their nanny or caretakers that they sense closeness to. Firmly saying ‘no’ generally would put a halt to this behaviour amongst such infants.”

But also according to them we shouldn’t worry unless it’s done when she is around other children like in a daycare setting.
I guess in a form of defending or wanting something, that’s when it gets really bad.
I think I rather just nip it in the bud now, especially since she just moved on to people.
Did your little ones/ a child you know bite?
How did you or their care taker stop it?
I remember my grandmother saying she would put Chile (hot sauce) in our mouth. Ya not something I’d want to do.
Hubs family believes in biting back, not too hard but just enough to know that it hurts. Or even a pow pow, with a good No!
I don’t know what we are going to do but we have to do something fast. Before there is another victim.
p.s. Turns out the hubs and his twin were biters. Glad to know they get it from dad and not mom 🙂
Happy Thursday everyone!
