The New Generation #LaNuevaGeneracion

The relationship I have with my dad is one I wish for any child. My dad is my HERO! Being his only daughter and the oldest of his kids, our relationship will always be different than that of my brothers. This is why I was so excited to learn Terra.com had teamed up with Chevy to produce La Nueva Generacion, a series on the relationship between a son and his father.

The program is featured within Terra’s new Hombre Channel and is dedicated to multi-generational U.S. Hispanic men.

This isn’t just a story on the relationship of father and son, it is the story of our new generation of kids and how the struggle to relate to a father who was not brought up the same as his kids, especially kids raised in the states, does exist.

I am happy to say that my dad has a special relationship with each of my brothers. Whether it’s life lessons, sports, cars or stories of his past, I know each of them respect him when he speaks and really take to heart what he says. My brothers have learned about our heritage through both of my parents.

This series reminded me of the times my father would travel to Tijuana, Mx with each of us and share a little bit about the place he grew up. It really gave us a sense of where we came from and what my father has been through in his journey of life.

I wish our generation of kids can always relate to our roots and learn from our parents and have pride in our Hispanic Heritage! I wish the same relationship and pride for my son in his relationship his dad and grandfathers.

I encourage you to watch this Spanish mini series titled “La Nueva Generación” by Chevrolet Silverado on Terra.com
I leave you with the first episode! Watch the series and see if you can relate.

How can you relate?
