Traveling lately has been challenging for our family mostly for little lady. I learned this year that she has become very attached and really for no reason. After little man went to school she had a hard time dealing with that. She misses her brother every time he leaves on the bus.
Now that work has picked up and opportunities of travel have came up it’s been a challenge to keep her happy. She usually throws a fit crying and screaming. This never use to happen. We go out of our way to discuss what is going to happen when mommy it daddy have to go a few times before the actual day comes and still it breaks my heart.
Today was a better day. She hugged me close and asked if I was going to Jamaica again. I said no, no Jamaica this time. I told her I’m going to go where our favorite Jelly is made! She smiled big and said “will you bring me a surprise?” Of course I couldn’t say no to her. Little man was excited for his school bus to arrive. He knows the drill when mom travels. Daddy takes over and then there are lots of visits to grand-mommy’s house.
When it was time to go, my driver made my goodbyes easy. He greeted my kids and handed some treats. Our goodbyes were short and sweet.
I texted the hubs to check on the kids. So far no tears!
I’m off to Orrville, Ohio to represent SpanglishBaby.com where I am a contributor, to join Smucker’s in celebrating holiday traditions. Stay tuned on SpanglishBaby where I’ll share what i’ve learned on my trip and also here on GUB for my return with the kiddos.
