3 Tips for an Affordable Movie Night

This year the hubs and I made big plans for our family. We have huge goals and dreams and so working hard and budgeting are a big part of our life. That being said our movie days are slim and we’ve looked to invest in our family fun rather than just splurging for one day of fun. I was challenged to not only keep my family entertained but I had to do it at an affordable Price. Here is how we created two Affordable Movie Nights for the price of 2 theater movie tickets.

Affordable Movie Night with Walmart

affordable movie night with Walmart
One of the most expensive part of a movie night is the actual movie but Walmart is making movie night so affordable. You’ve probably passed the $5 DVD bins a few times. I’m here to tell you DON’T there are awesome gems in the bins at such an amazing price. We picked up 2 movies- one for movie night date night for the hubs and I. We also picked up a childhood favorite for the hubs and I that we knew would be perfect for the kids too. There really is something for everyone.

Here are my 3 tips for an affordable movie night:

1-Find an affordable movie-

Hit up the Walmart $5 bins and find something for movie night. From adult titles like “Friday” or kid movies “Land Before time”

2-Pick out a snack-

Walmart has movie box candy for $0.98 so be sure to check out the bins if your family likes that kind of snack. If not find an affordable movie snack.

invest to have great movie nights

3-Invest in something that will make movie night special:

We invested in a popcorn machine While it cost as much as a movie ticket we knew this would be the perfect investment for our movie nights to come.Find Presto Popcorn Machine at Walmart $28.68or maybe buy something like popcorn seasoning, big bag of candy something that will allow you to be reused and also make your movie night special.

2 movie nights for the price of 2 movie tickets

Creating a movie night is easy and just calls for a little thought while shopping at your local Walmart. I managed to create 2 movie nights- one for a date night and one for the family night, each costing me $23.50 because a total of $47 was spent including our investment of a popcorn machine.

What is important for a successful Movie Night at home with your family?

Don’t forget to check out the $5 movie bins at Walmart and pin our tips for later!
