BHM: Notable Figures Matching Game

February 24, 2017 Leave a Comment

BHM notable figures matching game

My kids love playing games. This Black History Month I wanted to create a memory/conversation game. The goal was to see what they remember from these Historic and Notable Figures. I made the first one simple with very familiar faces.

This version of our matching game included Ruby Bridges, Bessie Coleman, Marian Anderson, Rosa Parks, Dr. MLK Jr. and Jackie Robinson. These are all people we’ve discussed with the kids since they were little. Many are also discussed at school.

The goal was to not only match them but figure explain which piece goes with who and why.

I’ve made this version of our game into a printable so you too can play with your kids.

To keep the game fair I glued the printable to a piece of cardstock. It helps to make the cards sturdy and also non-transparent.

Cut your cards out and flip them upside down and see who knows the most notable figures this Black History.

Don’t forget to get your free printable!
