I’m making the holidays extra special this year. As we celebrate the holidays and the new year to come I want my family to remember our time together as the kids get older.  This year we will be having Christmas in our little home. I picked a theme and have made a few DIYs to personalize our table. This holiday season I’m all about Holiday Gold Place Setting for each of my family members!

BHG-metallic-Snowflakes-collection-walmart

It started when I went to Walmart Holiday party and saw the new BHG collection for Holidays. I finally got my hands on BHG Metallic Snowflakes Reversible Table Cloth and coordinating Limited edition porcelain Plates with Gold and silver decals and trimming.  I fell in love with the gold and silver instantly!

Walmart has a variety of designs with gold and silver details but I really liked the look of BHG 8″ Snowflake Gold Decal Salad Plate ($3.42) with  the BHG 10″ Dinner Plate with Metallic Rim ($4.47) I really liked how it could be for christmas dinner or New Years celebrations.

DIY Personalized Holiday Gold Place Setting

To personalize each place setting I got crafty and made my own DIY name setting.  To make your own you will need a few supplies available at Walmart in the crafts and seasonal department.

Glitter snowflakes, pinecones, hemp cord, glue gun, gold Sharpie, glitter, glue, scissors, white card-stock, and whole puncher or piercing tool to string cord.

Glue the pinecone to the snowflake with a glue gun. Secure that it stays on. As you wait for it to cool Make your name setting tag.

Take a rectangle piece of card-stock about 2in x 1in Cut a triangle at the end to make a flag.

Add Tacky Glue to the end of your flag by the tips and sprinkle glitter.

Personalize it with a gold sharpie and whole punch it.

String cord thru the whole and tie on to the pine cone!

They are so simple and so cute. The really add a great touch to each place setting.

I rolled out some burlap on each side of the table and placed our plates over it. The burlap and the pinecones really complimented each other and gave the metallic look a more natural feel.

This is a great look for both Christmas dinners and New Years Celebrations.

Ugh. These are SO cute! Too bad my family pulls out the folding tables, plastic table covers, and paper plates for the holidays. If not, I’d totally make these!
