P&G and Walmart Supporting our Veterans

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post as a participant in the Walmart Moms Program.
Can I say how important the support from brands is to our Veterans. P&G recently partnered up with Walmart and Jarred Allen to support our troops and the awareness it gives to helping and giving back is tremendous!

I’ve shared how the transition  from military to civilian life can be a difficult one and altho programs exist they aren’t always easily accessible. This is why when I heard P&G  and Walmart partnered with Jared Allen, defensive end for the Chicago Bears, and his foundation Homes for the Wounded Warriors I knew this would be amazing!

Jared’s foundation helps Chicago Veterans through support of the  Eddie Beard Homeless Veterans’ Housing Program

In Illinois alone, more than half of the veterans live in Chicago and the need for housing continues to grow. Sadly there are also more homeless veterans today than those we lost during Vietnam War.

Jared took a shopping trip to a local Walmart and purchased P&G supplies for The Eddie Beard Vet House which can serve 15 veterans at any given time and still holds a wait list with around 50. P&G and Walmart will continue to provide a year -supply of products that are needed for the Vet House including products from Bounty, Oral-B, Old Spice, Tide, Crest, Scope, and Charmin!

Places like The Eddie Beard Vet house are important for our community. The difference in providing for these Vets is crucial because many need a helping hand to get back on their feet. The Vet house has shown that “within eight months, 70% of the veterans find permanent housing and establish an income” How amazing is that!

Thank you P&G, Walmart and Jared for continuing to give back in big ways to our Vets!!!
