How to Make BBQ Beef Sliders
I was inspired to make these sliders when I went shopping at Walmart. I picked up 2 small trays of boneless beef ribs {less than $12} and new these would be perfect to cook ahead of time for a fast game time recipe. With a little help of store bought BBQ sauce, broccoli slaw {$1.78}, and our favorite sweet rolls {$2.98} this was already making my mouth water! Check out Walmart’s Marketside Broccoli Slaw in the produce department it’s one of our favorites!
- 2lbs of pre-cooked boneless beef ribs
- Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
- 1/2 bottle of BBQ Sauce
- 1/3 cup of Sour Cream
- 1 Tbs Pepper Blend seasoning
- Place precooked ribs in an oven safe dish and add about 1/2 a bottle of BBQ sauce.
- Broil for about 10 minutes or until BBQ sauce is bubbling.
- While the ribs are in the broiler, prepare the broccoli slaw.
- Mix half the bag, about 2-3 cups of slaw with the sour cream and pepper and set aside.
- Remove from oven and begin to shreddd the beef ribs. Add more BBQ sauce if you need to.
- Cut the rolls and add slaw to one side and rib meat to the other.
- Put the sliders together and enjoy!
- To precook boneless ribs place in a pot with at least 8cups of water (or until covered) for about 4hrs or until fork tender. Remove ribs from water, place in an airtight container to cool. Once cooled, cover and store in refrigerator until ready to use. Store for no more than 2 days.
The key to these easy sliders is to precook the boneless ribs. I cook them 2 days ahead of game day. In a pot with at least 8 cups of water I cook them covered for about 4hrs or until tender. I then remove them from the water to place them in an airtight container to cool. Once cooled I cover them and store in refrigerator again for no more than 2 days.
Once you’re ready to make the sliders it only takes about 15 mins to put these together. Ya that easy!
You want to place the ribs in an oven safe dish to cook under the broiler. I cook my ribs smothered in at least 1/2 the bottle of my favorite BBQ sauce and broil for about 10 mins or until the sauce begins to bubble. It happens fast so I try not to get too busy.
While the ribs are under the broiler I make something easy like the creamy Broccoli slaw. I take half the bag mix it with the sour cream and a bit of pepper for taste and mix until well combined.
TIP: Place the slaw in the refrigerator if you aren’t going to use it immediately.
Once you remove the ribs from the oven, begin to shred the beef using forks. At this time add more BBQ sauce if you would like.
Cut your rolls in half, and begin placing the slaw and rib meat on the rolls.
You can make at least 12 sliders depending on how much meat you use. We had some left over on the side for later. But definitely, you will be making at least 12 BBQ Beef Sliders for your game time crowd!
These sliders are our family favorites and perfect for game time crowds for the size. But don’t just think this recipe is for game time enjoy it as a meal with your family during the week.
