In less than 12 weeks, I will have a new baby in my arms. I try not to plan my day too much but a few things I know for certain is we will be a family of five, I’ll have a new set of eyes looking up to me, and I wouldn’t be able to go through the miracle of birth without my family and the support of the team of nurses that will be by my side.
Last year, I shared my first birth story and how my nurses changed my life. I have an incredible sense of admiration and respect for all nurses that I come in contact with now that I could never thank them enough. So this time around, I’m preparing early to show how much I care for all their work and what they will do for my family.
Nurses are often overlooked and in my opinion, aren’t thanked enough for their work. We expect the utmost care from the medical professionals we come in contact with and my nurses have always gone above and beyond. They are with me in one of the most intimate times of my life and continue to care for baby and me until we are wheeled out to go home. Being a nurse takes a great amount of patience, passion, and responsibility. After all another human being’s life (or two) is in their hands.
This is why I’m so proud to continue to support the great work Pampers continues to do to bring awareness to nurses with Pampers Swaddlers Thank You Nurses Awards. We’ve all nominated a nurse and now the recipients of the awards have been announced for Nurses Week.
I’ll be thanking my nurses when I go into labor with a little gesture of gratitude I like to call, Love in a Jar! With mini mason jars filled with treats and goodies a nurse can use during a shift to know our family is grateful for even the smallest of tasks.
Thank you Nurses for all you do and Congratulations to the winners of this year’s Pampers Swaddlers Thank You Nurse Awards.
